CHRISTMAS IN SOSUA - Dinner for Children
Since 2006 Ambassadors for Christ Canada has sponsored "Christmas in Sosua", A special Christmasdinner for the children who live in the impoverished barrios around Sosua, where our mission church in the Dominican Republic ministers. This provides the children and some single-parent families with a special meal they would never be able to have. It also opens doors throughout the community, allowing the church to minister and share the gospel. Some of the parents wept openly and expressed to the pastor last year that they couldn't believe someone would care enough to do this for their children. The meal time starts off with singing and the sharing of the Christmas story. The children are then fed a meal of turkey, pasta salad, potato salad, corn tortillas, a roll, grapes, apple slices and raisins. There are usually 600 Christmas dinners served. The pastor and children are so happy and express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who donates to Ambassadors for Christ Canada so that this special meal is made possible. It is a visible expression of declaring the love of Jesus.
